Forester with a Masters Degree in Silviculture and a PhD in Nature Conservation, Silvia wants to improve management and practical action on invasive alien species in Brazil and beyond, especially in Latin America. Experience in invasive species management, especially plants; development of management plans, priority setting, prevention measures, early detection and rapid response, risk assessments, development of legal regulations with environmental agencies and capacity building for IAS. Consultant on international projects on IAS in several countries in Latin America.

Member of the Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG), Fellow of Ashoka Social Entrepreneurs.

My free time is spent cycling, swimming, hiking, reading, travelling, and other leisure with family and friends.
